BABES AGAINST BULLSH*T - RAISING AWARENESS FOR ENDOMETRIOSIS MONTH

This Thursday, Velvet Bloom and Jade Alice, supported by fellow babes Holly Hebe, YARA, Georgia Bancroft, Xirita, Romanie and BARES march forth to perform at The Night Cat.

Hosted by Smash Music Group and Warrant Magazine, Babes Against Bullsh*t aims to raise awareness in support of endometriosis awareness month. We chat to one half of the dynamic headlining duo, Velvet Bloom, ahead of the fundraiser as she sheds light on the medical disorder affecting women across the world.

Velvet Bloom says she is proud to perform alongside, “an amazing group of talented fem-identifying artists”, as she passionately advocates for the much-needed recognition, understanding and education of endometriosis.

Endometriosis is a menstrual health disorder that affects an estimated 1 in 10 women worldwide. This means that approximately 176 million women are affected by a range of symptoms including, but not limited to painful periods, pain during or after sex, pain in the pelvic area, lower back, or legs, pain during or around ovulation (getting the picture?), nausea, fatigue and infertility. Most frustratingly though, is that it takes on average six a half years to be diagnosed due to the lack of research and knowledge about the disorder.

An EndoWarrior herself, Velvet Bloom has suffered from endometriosis for a number of years. After two years of appointments, doctors, medical bills, misdiagnoses and frustration, she tells RSOM that her answer was delivered by a naturopath. It is with this experience that the singer/songwriter strongly advocates for the increase of education, not only regarding endometriosis but also reproductive health, sex education and trans education.

Velvet Bloom (with full band) will take to the Night Cat this Thursday night to raise awareness for endometriosis.

This show is to raise awareness and support for not-for-profit charity, Endometriosis Australia.

Come and join us in support of these incredibly talented artists on Thursday the 4th of March at The Night Cat.

Because Endo Warriors are done with the bullsh*t. Period.
