DRAGNFLY INDUSTRI RELEASES DEBUT SINGLE, ‘GHOST.’

The debut single from Dragnfly Industri is an experience like no other. Through its dreamy indie rock sound, ‘Ghost takes you on an intimate journey of self-discovery and chasing your dreams.

Taking inspiration from a range of artists including Pink Floyd, Muse and Tori Amos, ‘Ghost’ hooks you in from the very beginning. Cascading vocals combined with the soft indie melody create a unique experience for the listener. As the song grows, you’re taken on a journey through the building bass and haunting yet mesmerising layer of harmonies.

Produced by Four4ty Recording studios, the slow, steady tempo draws you in immediately. Alongside her ethereal voice, the slow-building ballad shines through as a strong beginning for Dragnfly Industri.

With lyrics like "‘this house is haunted, but I can’t break free,” Dragnfly Industri takes us through her own personal journey through finally achieving the dreams that have haunted her life in the previous years.

For Jo Maloney, the voice behind Dragnfly Industri, ‘Ghost’ reflects all the dreams that she never thought were attainable. As she entered her 40s and started her family, after time she expressed that she felt “lost” within herself, with her old dreams of entering the music industry haunting her.

Beginning her journey as a professional cover band singer, Maloney has taken the leap into pursuing a career in songwriting by releasing her first single. She says that ‘Ghost’ is all about fulfilling those dreams, no matter how old they are.

“I wanted to write a song that would leave people feeling excited, courageous and wanting more because that’s how I feel finally releasing my very first track,” she says.

Mature-aged new artists are often underrepresented in the music industry and it is with this release that Maloney wants to inspire others in a similar situation to explore and chase those dreams from their youth.

“My whole adolescent and adult life up to a few years ago, had me believing that I am not deserving of this adventure. That it was always for someone else and that it was unattainable for me. I decided I wanted to try and show people that with maturity comes such a freedom to explore your identity and I wanted to capitalise on that and maybe even inspire some people as well,” - Dragnfly Industri.

Ghostis a hauntingly beautiful track that will stick by you for a long time, showing a very promising start from Dragnfly Industri.
