‘LOSE SOMEBODY’- THE NEW RELEASE BY TIM CHOU
After the successful release of Tim Chou’s EP, ‘First Steps’, the Melbourne based musician is back in 2021 with his new single, ‘Lose Somebody’, and it’s the definition of what pop sounds like. I love that this brand new single was created over the course of a day and is inspired from something everyone has experience in; heartbreak. The lyrics are clear and there’s no confusion when it comes to understanding just what this song is about. It’s honest, vulnerable, and let’s be real, this is the type of song that everyone can relate to.
Tim has been busy working as an independent musician, all whilst finishing his final year of high school. Kudos to him for adding more onto his plate during such a stressful time as it is! I think it’s amazing to see someone so young tackle something so huge, it’s always inspiring to see emerging artists follow their dreams and put everything they have into it their craft.

In terms of the song itself, it’s solid. It’s got everything you would expect from a pop song; basic structure, basic chords, lots of repetition. The acoustic guitar is sweet, the vocals are raw and vulnerable, the beat is solid. It’s a good song, with so much potential. I think overall, this new single is going to do just as well as Tim’s previous ones, it’s definitely a great start in a new pop direction.
Based on Tim’s past releases, it’s obvious he is a talented, young musician. There is still so much room for him to grow into as an artist and there is still so much space for him to explore his sound. I think with a few more years of growth and experience, Tim’s music will evolve even more with him as he branches out as an artist, which is exciting to think about!
